Where exactly does your dream fit into your life, which is no doubt already chock full of responsibilities and distractions?
If you are serious about making your dream a reality — and making it EASY — you must become conscious about how high it sits on your priority list.
We only tend to devote time and attention to our top three priorities. This means that at least some days, you’ll need to be willing to put your dream way up there if you want to see it actually come to fruition.
This might involve asking for help with your kids while you create a business plan, saying “no” to people, or locking yourself in a friend’s cabin once a quarter so you can write your book undisturbed.
Unless you can make your dream a real priority, you’ll continue to move toward it in fits and starts, or wait for a better time — and the thing is, “someday” never comes.
The truth is, tomorrow is not a guarantee. We assume there will always be another time, but in reality, life is just a series of nows, and then it ends, and we don’t know when this will take place. This isn’t meant to scare you, but to wake you up!
There will never be a better now to get present and get real about what’s important to you.
Maybe family responsibilities prevent you from doing certain aspects of your dream right now. That’s okay. But what CAN you prioritize with it so you can keep moving forward?
Many people wait to even take out the paintbrush, sit at the piano, or write the first page of their book until they perceive the time is right to have a gallery showing, perform a concerto or shop their book to the world’s best publishers.
These things are actually just minor details that will fall into place when the time is right. I’ve seen it happen hundreds of times. But first, you have to do your part.
You can be taking major action toward what is in your control and within your abilities. Let the divine take care of those unknown to-do items that will take place in some unknown future moment — and make your dream a priority NOW.
